Cookie Policy

This policy explains how Kingdom uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our site. Cookies help us remember your preferences, understand how you navigate our pages, and ensure key features work correctly.
How this site remembers you
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies to recognise returning visitors, maintain your language preference, and keep you logged in across sessions. Without them, you would need to re-enter your choices every time you opened a new page.
Our cookies fall into three groups. Necessary cookies keep the site functional — they handle session data, security tokens, and any consent choices you make. You cannot disable these without breaking core features. Analytics cookies tell us which pages are visited most often and where users drop off, helping us improve navigation and content. Marketing cookies track visits from advertising campaigns so we know which channels bring readers to the site.
| Category | Purpose | Requires consent |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Session management, security, consent records | No |
| Analytics | Page views, user journeys, site performance | Yes |
| Marketing | Campaign attribution, advertising effectiveness | Yes |
Most necessary cookies expire when you close your browser. Analytics and marketing cookies may persist for up to two years, allowing us to recognise patterns over time.
The analytics question
We use Google Analytics to measure traffic and understand which content resonates. This service sets its own cookies and collects data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy, which you can review at policies.google.com.
Analytics cookies require your consent. If you decline them through the banner that appears on your first visit, we will not track your activity beyond what necessary cookies record. The site remains fully usable either way.
Scripts we do not control
Some pages embed content from third parties — YouTube videos, social-media sharing buttons, or maps. These services may set their own cookies when their content loads, and we do not control what those cookies collect or how long they last. Declining marketing cookies in our banner will not block third-party scripts that are already embedded in a page.
If you want to prevent those third parties from tracking you across sites, consider using a browser extension that blocks cross-site cookies or switching to a privacy-focused browser such as Firefox with Enhanced Tracking Protection enabled.
Your options
You can manage cookies directly in your browser. The process varies slightly by platform, but every modern browser offers a way to view, delete, or block cookies.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. Choose "Block third-party cookies" or "Block all cookies" depending on your preference.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. Select "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" or use Enhanced Tracking Protection set to Strict.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy. Tick "Block all cookies" or "Prevent cross-site tracking" to limit what third parties can collect.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies. Choose "Block third-party cookies" or a stricter setting.
Blocking all cookies will prevent you from staying logged in, and some interactive features may stop working. Blocking third-party cookies alone strikes a balance — you keep the site functional while reducing tracking from external services.
The consent banner that appeared on your first visit is stored as a cookie itself. If you clear your cookies or switch devices, the banner will show again. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the relevant cookie in your browser's settings.
Revisions
We may update this policy as we add features or respond to changes in privacy law. When we do, we will note the revision date at the bottom of this page. Significant changes — such as introducing a new category of cookie or a new third-party service — will be flagged in a notice on the homepage for a reasonable period.
Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms. If you disagree with a change, you can stop visiting or adjust your browser settings to block the cookies in question.
For questions about this policy or to request details of the cookies currently set on your device, contact the editorial team at [email protected]. We aim to respond within 48 hours.
